This hit hard. We are at a crossroads between try-hard and frump master general. The path to success is narrow! One good go-to is key.

Girl uniform reminds me of my niece who at 10 showed up at my house in skinny jeans and ballet flats. She said it was her ‘Aunt Missy’ outfit. I still dress this way but have moved on to straight slim jeans (baby steps!!!). I work for a small retail chain & women of all ages so I hope it keeps me from getting too frumpy

love "AUNT MISSY" outfit! These youths really tell us who we are.

If you think I am actually going to tell you where my EEK "middle aged" body is finding clothes that fit....well, I'm not. I would whisper it in your ear, but this is not for the public domain. I've gone LOW. That said, this summer will surely be dresses and sneakers, and lighweight blazers. Sigh. I've been viewing influencers with names like "50 is not old" but let's be honest - it's not young either.

SHERRY! Here for all the whispers. Thanks for bringing realness here. We see you in all your youth AND your wisdom.

Wonderful post and I have a few thoughts:

- My high school geometry teacher worked at Multiples during the summer.

- The new adult version of multiples is Norma Kamali.

- Re: Girl uniform, I wore it to dinner this past weekend TWICE. And you’re right, I changed my shoes each time to make it a little different.

- Please let me know if it looks like I’m trying too hard and I promise to do the same for you.

I essentially just made her swear in drips of blood that she would call me to the mat if I move into cringe.

I will DEFINITELY tell both of you -- but the truth is, if you're crossing cringe I might be the LAST TO KNOW. What if I live on cringe island? We'll just never know.

I will always and please do the same. Also, interesting about Norma Kamali. I can see what you're saying!

Something I love about being half 100, is that society does not give 2 shits about me. I could wear a literal sack and the only comment I'd get is that it looks practical. So I have embraced this and wear whatever strikes my fancy that day. Do I want to dress in one colour like a toddler? Yes I do! Shall I invoke the vibe of a long lost ghost who haunts my family due to a long standing curse that I am unable to escape from? I have a skirt for that! I find dressing for a mood rather than the world, creates a higher likelihood of success. That said, I do love a body suit.

I just reordered these pants/culottes because they are sooo comfy and I can wear them with sandals and be summery, or I can easily accessorise to become 'Edwardian Cyclist Lady', 'Victorian Ghost' or 'Crow Lady Watching Me From Behind That Tree'. So versatile! https://www.shopcider.com/product/detail?pid=101903996
