Obviously, we were a little proud of ourselves for pulling off the Texas Hold ‘Em Challenge. But, we couldn’t help but wonder what the youths might think of our shenanigans. So we fired off some thirsty texts to the youngs in hopes of praise, and in fear of rough truths. Find out what came back our way.

Next, behold what you’ve all been waiting for — the “making of” video of dreams. The Texas Hold ‘Em TikTok Challenge -- ft. Emily Freda Foster, Deanna Cheng, Jennifer Jackson, costume changes, Omnilux products, hat swaps and more. As you’ll see we didn’t quite take to it like a fish to water. More like a fish that’s flapping around outside the bucket for a while and then gathers up the strength to hoist themselves back into the bucket and then just floats around for a spell catching their breath.

Let’s set the stage.

Emily here! I have never been good at memorizing dances or learning choreography. And it’s humbling. It feels like something I *should* be good at. I took dance growing up and my best friend’s mom Kathy was an aerobics instructor. We attended her classes, and previewed many routines. It just has never been a god-given gift in my body. So, the HOURS it took for me to learn this dance was no surprise to me. But, I do think it might have been surprising to others involved haha!

When Deanna asked “should we learn another dance?” it felt like a gift. It’s good for me to remember the importance of taking time to do something for myself - especially something that I KNOW I’m not great at but I’m choosing because IT’S FUN.

Deanna here! I want to start by saying that Emily’s moves bring me a psychotic level of joy. I’m obsessed. I LIVE for her - truly.

I also think there is great value in choosing to do something out of your comfort zone. It’s a great way to buff-your-labia (a pal used to say buff-your-balls but needed to swap in some majora and minora, ya know?) Our fearless dance captain, Jennifer Jackson, worked with us for three plus hours later afternoon on a Saturday. She got this dance into our bodies, our minds and our souls. That evening my husband was laying in bed and I told him I was going to give him a “private performance.” I stood in first position at the foot of our bed and played the song. I couldn’t remember one step. NOT ONE! A true shock.

Luckily, we were meeting again the next morning to review the dance before we shot the video. Emily came by an hour early and together we wrangled the moves back into our bodies before Jennifer showed up. 🙏🏻
