Last weekend I had the joy of going to a Dodgers game — corporate seat style. Had no idea there was a section of Dodger Stadium called The Dugout Club that came fully equipped with a secret underground buffet. A proper buffet that had carving stations and required a full sweep of the room before you locked in. I marched a loaded to-go plate of salmon in herb sauce, the best sausage I’ve ever had in my life, roasted Brussel sprouts and caesar salad over to our seats. Don’t worry, Dodger Dogs were available but I opted for the bougier offerings. Everything was shockingly delicious. I skipped the dessert display but it was popping awwfff.

It’s called The Dugout Club for good reason. Our seats were, for all intents and purposes, in the dugout. What’s the average age of a baseball player? I have them as an older set in my mind but based on what I was seeing they look like sweet little bambinos. I wonder if they know what “sigma” means? More on that below.

Before I left for the game Wing gave me a lowdown on their star player Shōhei Ohtani. I find that if I’m going to a game of any kind I just need to be downloaded on one or two star players to ground myself.

What makes Ohtani a triple threat is that he’s both an excellent pitcher and a designated hitter. That’s just two threats you say? Well he’s also foine as hail, which was not relayed to me during my “grounding” session — so I’m calling it a triple!

Speaking of triples, I raised my phone above my head when Ohtani was up at bat to grab some footage for Wing and I caught a home run! *see below

We actually witnessed him break a record for most home runs by a Japan-born player.

On April 21, 2024, Los Angeles Dodgers star Shōhei Ohtani hit his 176th home run in the Major Leagues, breaking the slugging record for Japan-born players previously held by Matsui Hideki. ~ Nippon.com

Now there is some Ohtani drama involving his interpreter and gambling. Seems his interpreter/friend stole millions of dollars from him to fund gambling debts? Ohtani himself might not be innocent but let’s move on to more important things …
