We are twelve days into new year, new you - how we doing gang? Are we different yet?!
Sometime in late December we started contemplating what our "New Year’s Resolutions” for 2024 might look like. While on one hand, the idea of examining where we’ve been and where we’re going sounded great - we did not want to fall into the old pattern of making a resolution about weight or body related because it’s a snooze-fest, patriarchy, old news, lame, powered by commerce, and uninspired.
After we took body shaming off the menu we decided to add a filter-of-fun to our New Year’s dreams. Emily Freda Foster is looking to have more fun in 2024 - so dammit that’s what we are going to do. Here’s how!
GETTING SOME PLANS WITH FRIENDS ON THE BOOKS 📚
It’s not enough to want to connect with friends. We actually have to drop it into the cal and prioritize it. Spearheading plans seems to come easy for some and has to be really intentional for others. We both fall into the more “intentional” category. We’re trying to get into our “planner-bag” this year (Not sure we used “bag” correctly here. We’ve heard people talk about their such and such bag on socials. Took a swing.)
Challenge: Crack open the calendar, choose three dates, reach out to three different friends (bonus points for a pal you’ve never had a one-on-one with) and lock in some friend dates. Maybe we are getting coffee, hitting a museum or renting a bicycle made for two.
