Happy Friday! Somehow next week is Thanksgiving so let me jumpstart the gratitude by letting you know how much I appreciate you being here. Thank you.

And jumping on that gratitude train is TikTok! The app is now rolling out digital well-being badges for limiting screen use, journaling and other self-care practices. That sounds as incongruous and implausible as saying Timothée Chalamet is moonlighting as an underground London rapper. HA!

But first, have you been asleep at the wheel on scalp care? Apparently, the scalp is having its time to shine! People are bopping to head spas for custom scalp treatments. At a high-end salon a 60-minute session can run you up $300+.

You can expect an examination of your scalp, followed by a custom-blended treatment that is massaged into your head and hair. Like most good things, this trend is more commonplace in Japan, but has taken a few years to take hold here.

Have you ever had one? Did it make your hair / scalp luxurious? Please note, if you are dealing with actual scalp conditions like seborrheic dermatitis, postpartum shedding or alopecia it’s recommended that you head to the doctor instead of shelling out for a salon treatment.

Since I’m thirsty for better hair, a quick search led me to a place in LA that has a location in Beverly Hills and one in Pasadena. The first option under services says:
