Drake Vs. Kendrick Feud Anyone?

The art of the dis track!

This week Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” track hit number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Tracks. But, holy moly is this a dis track extreme - a very artful verbal attack in his ongoing feud with Drake. And Kendrick is accusing Drake of some pretty messed up things. Upon hearing this song I knew it was time to take out my notebook, pencil and let the research begin. In fairness, this is not my area of expertise, but what in the actual fighting words is going on in this song?!

Let’s back up this choo-choo for two shakes.

There have been many notable feuds over the years. From Nas and Jay-Z, N.W.A and Ice-Cube and of course the tragic Tupac and Biggie, may they both rest in peace. Also, a very notable (and dare I say entertaining?) feud is Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, which made headlines in 2018 when Cardi threw her shoe at Nicki at a fashion week party - and also had a resurgence a couple months ago. Also, gonna throw Taylor Swift some love for her recent “ThanK you aIMee,” track which definitely has some shots fired at Kim K. Your move, Kim!

This isn’t even Drake’s first catwalk down dis track lane, having previously sparred with Meek Mill and Pusha T.

Apparently, this feud between Drake and Kendrick started way back in 2013, but the past couple months this tussle has reached a new (and scary) fever pitch!

It’s gotten so out of a hand that in this very month of May a security guard outside of Drake’s Toronto estate was shot. While the shooters motive has not been released, the timing is definitely notable.

For the sake of sanity, let’s take it back to this past March of 2024 — when Kendrick dissed Drake on Future’s track “Like That.”
