Our fyp has been coming in hot with aura points content.
Mainly, this consists of a video of a gal with text over it asking “how many aura points did I lose when …(example given),” and Wildflower by Billie Eilish playing. It’s very moody!
So, first things first. Let’s unpack the new term! What is “aura” and what are “aura points?”
Aura simply means energy — just like we hoped it would! And, aura points are either positive or negative. Did you just fall on the sidewalk in front of your crush? -500 aura points! Did you just pay for the person’s coffee behind you when they forgot their wallet? +1000 aura points! So, you either accrue “good energy,” or you lose it.

So, let’s take this out for a spin! Please feel free to answer in the comments!

Before I check in with my own aura points I am feeling curious about how the younger generations view samples. It feels very “gen x” to feel guilty about taking an additional sample. A “z” or an “alpha” would probably consider extra samples — an opportunity. An opportunity for that derm office to interact with their personal brand. Because it’s possible that they would use that extra sample in their next instagram live and maybe even tag the derm office!
I’m going to give myself a very generous +500 aura points for reaching out to someone I went to high school with who was exhibiting concerning behavior on Facebook. We spoke for a few hours — it was a meaningful and productive chat.
Friend to the substack Matt McConkey gets +400 aura points for directing us to the terms: glazed and based. (I’m really feeling free with the points. Not sure if there’s a cap.) #nocap
Let’s get into those terms!
