I made my way to the Sabrina Carpenter “Short N’ Sweet” tour Sunday night and garnered a few takeaways to haul back to the ‘stack.
First up, a venue hack. I was gifted the tickets from one of my besties who is a PR music maven. She currently represents Sabrina and Chappell Roan, so essentially she running the music biz at this time. You just love to see it. When she reached out and asked if we wanted tickets my initial reaction was “sure, sounds like fun!” but as Sunday drew near, the dread of getting to the Kia Forum in Inglewood started to set in. It’s a 40-minute drive no matter which way you cut it. But the drive isn’t the stopper.
Los Angeles is not set up for success when it comes to seeing a show. Madison Square Garden - no problem - you’ve got Penn Station right there and multiple subway options that will spit you right out at the front door. Heading to CitiField - great -jump on the subway or the LIRR and boom, all you need to do is find your seats. But the idea of schlepping to Inglewood, shelling out $40-60 bucks for parking and getting stuck in a massive traffic jam near the venue — was daunting.
NIRA's Black Friday sale — 25% OFF — ends 12/3. We are both fans of the suite of NIRA products, specifically the NIRA Pro and NIRA Precision lasers for at-home use to build collagen and smooth away fine lines and wrinkles.
Here comes the hack!
Get down to Inglewood early, park, grab dinner (great drinks and bites at Martin’s Cocina Cantina) and then walk to the venue!!! It was an 18-minute walk from the restaurant to the Forum. We would have spent that time trying to get a parking spot please trust and believe. Going forward we will park, eat and walk. I will no longer be daunted by the KIA Forum. I feel free!
Onto more takeaways —
The Show
Sabrina is a sexy, pint-sized, vintage, confection. She was floating around on a huge 70s dream house set complete with circular bed and cone fireplace. It felt more like a proper broadway show than a pop concert. Sabrina was singing her heart out in a babydoll teddy and I was here for it.
