Happy memorial day weekend. We hope you get into some rest, relaxation, maybe have a “boy martini.” But definitely, 100% I hope you get whimsical (set to the tune of Olivia Newton John’s Physical).

And yes, we will go over my guide to whimsy. But first, there is a romance rumor that has me uncomfortable. Now I do want to stress that this is JUST a rumor. I mean tabloid-level nonsense. But we finally got our Pamela Anderson back. And we’re not ready to let the dark side of Hollywood have her again.

Could Pamela be dating Tom? Does Tom ever really date anyone? Liam Neeson was a hard YES from me. Tom Cruise feels like walking into a known trap. This lady has been THRU IT. I refuse to believe that she could - or would - walk into a dirty trash fire now at 58. Gosh dang it, send up a prayer to whoever you like about this being a bunch of nothing. Moving on!

Welcome to Whimsy!

Gex X uses sarcasm and irony to deal with hard times and feeling out of control. This is solidly where I sit. But Gen Z and Millennials are trending towards whimsy. That’s right. As a backlash to the never-ending news doomcycle, people are taking time to curate more playfulness into their lives. Whimsy is having a moment.

What is whimsy? Let’s break it down. It’s playful and fanciful, it’s sidestepping adulthood. It’s anything (and I do mean anything) that softens the rough edges. It’s doing things that bring you joy JUST because you can.
